Welcome To The Heart Of PEI

Resting in the Gulf of St. Lawrence lies a crescent shaped island now known as Prince Edward Island - or for those that want a shorter version - PEI. Originally the region's First Nations Mi'kmaq named it "Epetwitk", which when anglicized became "Abeqweit", charmingly translated as "cradled in the waves". Right in the centre of that green crescent you'll find "The Heart of PEI".

Who’s lucky enough to live in the “Heart of PEI?”

  • Farmers

  • Fishers

  • Artisans

  • Entrepreneurs and all of them love the land and shores that inspire and sustain them.

Centrally located – yup – in the Heart of Prince Edward Island, this is a region that will serve up a full-on Island vacation, all within easy driving distance. Or biking or walking distance for that matter. It’s an area celebrated for its classic pastoral viewscapes, scenic shorelines, and down-to-earth people who like nothing better than to share their passions and offer you a heartfelt welcome to their home.

The region is made up of farms big and small, fishing ports and mussel farms, hamlets and villages, anchored by the town of Kensington where you can find almost anything you might need. And hey, we can’t swear to it, but it’s possible that PEI’s most famous red-haired literary hero, Anne of Green Gables, passed through the historic Kensington Train Station on her way to Green Gables!
